Good Girl Vs. Bad Girl

So, I was at Happy Hour with a friend and we got on the subject of relationships, which of course, when chatting with someone of the opposite sex, you're always going to have somewhat different views pertaining to the man/woman relationship dynamics.

So my friend, who I love and value his opinion, brought to my attention something rather interesting that majority of  black men are doing, have done, or thought about doing.  No, it's not sleeping with a white girl, and it's not cheating on their spouse/girlfriend....it's something else.....it is dating a hoodrat chick.

Now, let me break down MY version of a hood rat, because you know there are skewed perceptions out there about what is a hood rat, but first let me also point out a chicken head.

Chicken heads just don't know any better.  These are the chicks that are pressed for a dude and will do anything for him.  A chicken head is loud, obnoxious, flamboyant, is more than always on the scene, she is every damn where and has a perception that she is all that, when really she is just, well, a chicken head.

Now a hood rat walks the fine line at times of being a chicken head, but there are distinct differences.  A hood rat is KNOWN throughout her hood as being the "easy" chick that the neighborhood boys have ALL had some form of sexual interaction with.  No need to decipher the types of sexual interactions, we're all adults, we can use our imaginations.  Moving on, the hood rat chick is the best dressed, has the best body, cool personality, has a street mentality, always on the scene at the hot parties, and the men WANT HER!  She is not pressed like the chicken head.  The hood rat doesn't have many friends, just a few close homegirls, and a couple of Chicken Head chicks who are pressed to be the hood rat's friend because they want to be cool by association.  Chicken head chicks will jock a man....a hood rat chick doesn't have to jock, because she already has the body, the demeanor and unfortunately the reputation.  With that all being said, at one point a black man has either strictly dated hood rats, have dated a few hood rats, or is really wanting to try out the hood rat thing just for sex purposes.

Now, on the other hand, the good girl is the girl who didn't get into too much trouble at school, made good grades, went to church, respected her parents, was involved in extracurricular actives such as sports, cheer leading, dance, band, etc.  She is known in any crowd for being nice, sensible and doesn't come with a lot of drama.  She is the girl that the boys like, they respect her, but hold her to another regard because lets face it....they're thinking about how they're going to get that hood rat.  In short, she is the girl Bobby Brown was singing about in "Tender Roni"

The hood rat, chicken heads and good girls grow up to become women.  The Chicken heads are typically pregnant by a man that is a dead beat and she is taking care of him.  A hood rat may of had a few babies, but certainly wasn't pressed to keep a low life dude around when she knows her worth and knows that there are more fish in the sea.  The good girl, may have gotten married lives in a house with a white picket fence.....but the MAJORITY of good girls end up single because the men think they're "too good" or "unapproachable".  Why, because the good girl has it all, the looks, smarts, education, independence, the money and is doing great by herself, therefore most men feel "what can I do for her?"  She is serious, she wants a serious relationship and most men just wanna have fun and have sex....save that corny "relationship" crap for the birds.

Case in point, exhibit A: Amber Rose the Queen Hood Rat Chick!

Amber Rose is notorious for being Kanye West's girlfriend.  A certified Hood Rat who came out of the streets of Philly.  Banging body, nice face, but is hood.  She doesn't have to press or chase men, because they come to her, and she'll never have to worry about being single.  She isn't the type that is looking to be held down.  She likes to have fun, be on the scene, is fashionable and will not hold whatever dude she is with accountable for his actions, why, because she doesn't hold herself accountable for her own actions.

Exhibit B:  Brandy the Queen of Good Girls!

Brandy is notoriously the black "Girl Next Door" American Apple Pie sweetheart.  From her first Album rocking the braids, to playing the first black Cinderella, Dancing with the Stars, and all around good girl.  She has a career, can sing, independent, educated, very nice...almost too nice.  AND SINGLE!

Men don't want Brandy, they want Amber Rose!  Men can exploit Amber Rose and tell his boys about all the sexual exploits he was involved with while with Amber Rose.  Where as, Brandy is wifey material, a man would not feel comfortable dishing dirt on a girl he looks at as being virtuous, noble, respectable and pure.

Not to say Brandy is the epitome of perfection, but if we look at the two, we can see a clear cut difference of the Good Girl Vs. Bad Girl.

This was a subject manner in a conversation that made me go, hmmmm.  I certainly know that I could be considered in the "good girl" category.  Do I know a few Chicken Heads, and Hood Rats, sure.  Are they cool people, absolutely!

The fact of the matter is that men like to say that women like bad boys and never go after the "good guys", well the same is true for men.  They want a woman that has some edge to her, has some sort of bad girl appeal to her.  Look at all the women that are "good girls" that are single compared to the "bad girls" who have men.

Take a look and think about it.....

had to throw a sample of Amber Rose with ChickenHeads

But all in all, with out saying who is the good girl, who is the bad girl....you catch my drift?

Coming live and direct from the Temple of Malisea Q. Gardner where her inner hood rat is beefing with her inner good girl and the Chicken Head is the mediator!

I’m not sensitive, you’re an A%$hole.

I hate Facebook.  Since 2008 when I joined, I’ve always hated it—Twitter was my first “super” social site and is currently my favorite.  I say “super” social sites because we won’t count AOL Voices, Black Planet, and Myspace (may they rest in peace), but these “super” social sites have IPO’s—yes, I have stock in Twitter since it is my favorite social site.  But I didn’t come on here to talk about social site preferences, but rather the content. In the last few days, Facebook has erupted with adorable (and not so adorable) photos of Daughter/Son appreciation.  Those who are childless have had the luxury of looking at the photos shared, whereas some (like me) scroll right past all the photos only stopping at what incites us.  So, the asshole part, okay, I’m getting to it.  Let me put this out there for those who may have sensitivities to my delivery, approach, or candor. This isn't a blog to negate parenting or complain about a post, but instead, the son/dau...

I'm too old for this! Dating over 40

I know, it’s been a year since I’ve blogged, and honestly, I was avoiding the very thing that brings me joy—I don’t know why.   I won’t go into the self-evaluation of my fears of failure; I’ll save that for another blog in 20-never.  But it is 2:21am July 11th, and I am going through some shit, thus the writing.  Who knows when and IF I will ever publish this tho....if I do, please excuse any typos, missed words, fucked up grammar...I mean, damn, I'm a writer, not an editor.  So, I am writing this after having a real conversation with a “friend” about our “friendship.”    For the first time in my life, I’m avoiding a relationship. If I'm honest, I'm avoiding a new relationship based on unresolved soul-ties I have with other men lingering in the universe.   Now, before you hop on your Judge Judy stand and start to judge/lecture me about “letting go,” my issue with the unresolved isn’t really that I am holding on to them…they...

Distant lover, lover (lover, lover, lover) So many miles away Heaven knows that I long for you Every night, every night I plan, sometimes I dance Through the day Distant lover (lover, lover, lover) You should think about me And say a prayer for me Please, please baby Think about me sometimes Think about me here Here in misery Misery As I reminisce, oh baby, through our joyful summer together The promises we made All the daily letters Then, all of the sudden Everything seemed to explode Now, I gaze out my window Sugar, down a lonesome road ----Mr. Marvin Gaye                          I'm a Virgo; therefore I can be rather particular.   Some call it “bougie” I like to call it preference.   I have a lot of "particulars" such as;  I dislike small talk.   I hate it with a PASSION! ...
